Isn’t ironic when
we have to learn to love people that we don’t actually like
and when we have to keep people away from us
whom we love dearly?

This is love in action
and it is not for sissies.

Boundaries – rules about how we let people treat us—
these are important, and ultimately they keep us and other people safe.
But oh, so hard to do.  Hearts break.  We always wonder if we are doing the right thing.
Loving and letting go.  Loving them and respecting ourselves.  Loving in distance.
Heart aching.

Choosing to love people that we find challenging,
and loving the people we may not actually like, however…..
(and by love, here, I mean being receptive with our hearts, being kind, and listening to them)
doing this
loving
this is the walk of faith
this is putting our faith into action
Our hearts break open.

We may not get anything back in either case.
That is not what this loving is about.
